The trees up, the bikes are all firmly locked away behind the workshop door, the fire is lit and the log pile full, a glass of rouge and a plate of smelly blue cheese, and a list as long as your arm of seasonal films to watch! Riding bikes is the furthest thing from my mind right now, this is the first Christmas i have looked forward to since i was probably 10! As you get older, the magic ebbs away, but this is my first Christmas as a father, and although she won’t have a clue what is going on, all that magic has come flooding back! I can’t wait for the next ten Christmasses now!
So, to all my friends out East in New Zealand, Australia and Thailand, i hope you are waking up to a wonderful family Christmas morning, and that you have all been spoiled rotten. To all my friends out West in the States, Canada and Alaska, you’ve got a few more hours to wai than i have, so i hope your preperations have gone well, and you are enjoying the lull before the storm!!
It’s been a year of big changes for me, we are now a young family, my brain is well on the road to a full recovery and i thank my lucky stars daily that i was spared and given the opportunity to be where i am now. I would like to say bring on 2011 and lot’s of great riding, but i know that will be tempered by a growing family life, and i look forward to a nice balance of the two. It probably won’t be too long before i’m sharing my passion for two wheels with my daughter!
Have a great festive break everyone, and a prosperous start to the New Year……. and if you are out on your bikes, stay safe 🙂
